ST. RICHARD – Patron of Coachmen, Large Families
Richard of Wyche was the Bishop of Chichester. His father died when he was a young boy, leaving his older brother to care for the estate and leaving it in debt. Richard, who had been working on the farm, took over management, bringing it back to wealth. He was an educated man, studying at Oxford, England, in Paris, France, and in Bologna, Italy, and later became Chancellor of Oxford University. Many miracles are said to have happened at his shrine in Chichester.
